Black Swan

So I initially was going to make a habit out of posting a new movie review every week, but not a whole lot has come out recently that I am interested in. Instead of seeing a new film last week, I decided to catch up with the critics and see Black Swan, which has had nothing but positive reviews. I have to say, I agree with the critics. Black Swan is, without a doubt, one of the best films of 2010. I personally found Black Swan to be more intriguing than Inception, another great of 2010, but that's just me. Black Swan takes the audiences on a dark twisted tour through the psyche of a young ballerina, which is more terrifying than I would have ever imagined. The film is masterfully directed by Darren Aronofsky, who also directed The Wrestler and The Fountain. The film plays with the audiences' minds as well, causing them to constantly question whether or not what they are seeing is real, or just in the mind of the main character, Nina. Natalie Portman seamlessly becomes Nina and her performance is thus remarkable. I would reckomend this film to anyone. Be forewarned, however, the film is graphic and terrifying and should not be view by the faint of heart.
